Visiting the royal yacht Britannia was on our list whilst visiting Edinburgh- it was lovely to see, so well maintained and such lovely images all over the boat if the royal family enjoying it. We think it was fairly priced for the experience and the peripheral issues such as parking were excellent. We arrived early and found that the multi story parking was free which is unheard of in many places - and the yacht is situated at a lovely shopping centre - with lovely eateries and a great view over the yacht into the “ harbour” at Leith. Thhe kids also enjoyed the retro museum in the shopping precinct full of items from all our childhoods! We would definitely recommend this half day out. Then go to the beachfront at Leith - it is beautiful with a lovely little lighthouse. There is a Loch fund on the waterfront which we didn’t visit but would usually recommend. A lovely tribute to the Edinburgh links to our Royal family threat won’t be lost but can be treasured.

Excellent, would 100% recommend this experience, given free handset to listen to info of different areas of the ship. Very good value for money . Just to think of all the Royalty, important presidents, prime minister's and now for yourself to have walked along those decks is a great privilege.

It is a bit of a journey from central Edinburgh to the yacht as we were going by public transport but well worth the journey. The yacht is actually attached to a shopping complex which is currently undergoing a lot of building in the area, so handy for snacks and refreshments. I had been lucky to have been on the yacht once before when I was in the RAF and serving in Gibraltar. We had befriended one of the crew who took us on board but it was a restricted area we saw. Veterans beware if you book direct with the yacht there is a concession price which isn't shown on agents price list. The receptionist was so nice she tried to get me a partial refund but was unable to as I had bought through an online sgency.
