Full description
This guided whisky tour tells the story of Scotland’s most famous product. A highlight of these tours is the Diageo Claive Vidiz Scotch Whisky Collection, which is the world’s largest collection of Scotch whisky, encompassing almost 3,500 individual bottles. This tour starts with the Whisky barrel car ride, which takes guests through the production and maturation process of Scotch whisky. This is followed by a sensory journey of Scotland including an introduction to Scotch whisky aromas. Next, enjoy a tutored appreciation of Scotch whisky along with a viewing of the world’s largest collection of Scotch Whisky (guests under 18 years of age will be given Irn Bru, a Scottish soft drink). The gift of a crystal tasting glass is included with this tour. If you select the gold tour option, after enjoying a full guided tour, you'll compare and contrast 4 regional single malts whilst relaxing in the beautiful McIntyre Gallery. Assisted by experienced guides, and provided with tasting notes, you'll be able to sip like a true connoisseur, and compare the regions to find your perfect dram.

Absolutely loved the experience!!! Lucy our tour guide has definitely made sure of that . The way in which she delivers her speech and her passion and knowledge about whiskey and Edinburgh 100% added to the experience. Absolutely recommend…and will be back soon…give Lucy a raise or a promotion she deserves it !!!

I found the whole experience brilliant; the guide and tour had me interested and engaged all throughout. My friend was especially interested, as he is usually a bourbon drinker, in how the whisky process worked. The collection room of whiskys was unbelievable, and just shows how extensive it has been all over the world. I was glad to taste the Highland whisky as it reminded me of my grandfather who was originally from Inverness. Overall, I would recommend that people should go on this tour not just for the whisky but for the history about how it came to be and it's impact on the world.

It was informative and not sluggish and boring. First you drive like in a scary train with gondolas and get everything explained in the desired language, then the different regions and their flavors are explained, then it's time to try. You choose the whiskey according to the region, which you then taste. Then you can marvel at an insane whiskey collection, after which we got 4 more whiskeys to try.
