Very easy to book, definitely worth the elevator pass to go up (thete are a lot of stairs)! Due to covid abd the city in general ring quiet I had the unique opportunity of being literally the only person up on the terraces rooftop apart from 2 security guards I saw! This is not to be missed, how close you are to the stunning architecture of the towers and the views over the city (even on a full day!) are amazing. You come down the stairs and into the cathedral itself which is wonderful and a must see.

Would definitely recommend this if you’re in Milan. We went for the stairs options rather than the lift which were obviously slightly more work but a nice experience, to be inside! The views once at the top were amazing, end up on the actual roof which we didn’t realise! So ncie

Easy, seamless way to get entry. Don't bring anything in bottles - they're not allowed! Also if you want to use the audioguide on the roof you'll need to go into the cathedral to get it before you go up on the roof.

Paying extra for the lift was worth every penny. There are still plenty of stairs on the roof itself that will leave you huffing and puffing and all the stairs going down too (which are easier of course)

Be sure to go on a dry day, we were lucky, the floor up top would be very tricky on a wet day.
