Along the way, you will learn about the core ingredients that go into the award-winning beers. You'll also hear about the state-of-the-art brewing process used today. The tour ends with a tasting, where you'll get to enjoy samples of the beer as your knowledgeable guides talk you through the different styles and flavors in the range. Your tour guide will be meeting you from 9 AM at Port Chalmers cruise terminal private tour waiting area close to door 2. Enjoy a 20 minute scenic drive with photo stops to Dunedin City. The first stop will be at the world’s steepest street where you will spend about 10 minutes. Enjoy panorama of the area from the lookout point. Begin exploring the key highlights of Dunedin with a visit to the botanical gardens to learn about the wide variety of plants and birds within the region. Learn about the Dunedin Railway station and its historical importance. After seeing the sites of Dunedin, enjoy the breathtaking scenery of Otago Peninsula via Highcliff Road with some photos stops. After approximately 1 hour, stop at the end of the Peninsula, The OPERA (former Penguin Place). This is a private reserve of the world's rarest penguins, the Yellow Eyed Penguin. Enjoy a guided reserve walking tour to learn all about these endangered penguins and see if you can view them either in the rehabilitation center or in the reserve. It is important that everyone joining this tour is able to walk up and down the hills. If you have a difficulty in walking then this experience is not suitable for you! Yellow Penguin viewing is not guaranteed. By joining the tour you are supporting a very important conservation project to protect Yellow Eyed Penguins and help to stop their extinction. After the guided Penguin tour, you will drive via a low road to enjoy a different view of the scenery along the harbour. Stop at Dunedin Railway station before you return back to Port Chalmers by 3:30 - 4:00 PM, or you can stay in the city for some shopping and make your own way back to Port. On this tour there is no time for a big lunch. Our tour guide will stop for a sandwich or a small snack to purchase.

Your tour guide will be meeting you from 9 AM at Port Chalmers cruise terminal close to door 2, from where you will enjoy a 20-minute scenic drive with photo stops to Dunedin City. Make the first stop at the world’s steepest street, and spend about 10 minutes grasping this extreme location. Enjoy a stop at a lookout point, which offers a gorgeous panorama of Dunedin and the surrounding area. Then, take a short guided stroll at the upper botanic garden to view a variety of plants, as well as native New Zealand birds. visit the stunning Dunedin Railway Station and hear all about how busy it used to be. Following the city sightseeing, sit back to enjoy the most breathtaking scenery of the Otago Peninsula via Highcliff Road with some great photo stops. After a 1-hour scenic drive, stop at the end of the Peninsula, the Royal Albatross Centre, and enjoy some free time to grab some snacks and drinks at the lovely cafe. You can also explore outdoors, walk down to the beach to spot seals on rocks or in water, view royal albatross gliding if it is windy enough, and enjoy the ocean and lighthouse views. This tour includes a free time at albatross centre. However, on this tour we might have visitors who book a slightly different option and will be joining a wildlife tour during free time at Albatross centre. We offer two other options while at the albatross centre: 1 hour guided Albatross tour or 1.5 hour walking Penguin Tour. These options can be booked separately. Following a break on the Otago Peninsula, drive via a low road to enjoy some different scenery along the harbor. Later on, return to Port Chalmers or choose to stay in the city for some shopping before making your own way back to the port.

The tour starts with a short introduction about The Royal Albatross before a short walk up a slight slope to the viewing platform to view Royal Albatross breeding colony.  After a break on Otago peninsula, drive along a low road to enjoy some different scenery, along the harbor. Then be returned to the meeting point to enjoy the rest of your afternoon.

Your knowledgeable guide will pick you up from the Octagon, outside Dunedin Visitor Centre. You will travel in a minibus to enjoy the most breathtaking scenery of Otago Peninsula via Highcliff Road and Hooper's inlet - which becomes a paradise for wading birds at low tide. You might see Black Swans, Pukekos, Stilts, Paradise Shellducks, Oyster Catchers, White Faced Herons etc. Learn about the past of Otago Peninsula and its wildlife. Stop at Albatross Colony to grab a drink or a snack. Watch these huge seabirds to glide in the sky if it is windy enough. Join a 1.5 hour guided tour of Little Blue Penguin when you walk down to the deck on the beach and wait for the world's smallest penguins return to the shore in small groups. It is important to be able to walk down the hill and walk back up in order to join this experience. It can get cold late in the evening so wearing warm clothes makes your experience more enjoyable. On the way back our guide will drop you off at your accommodation.
