What to Expect
Discover Ireland’s fascinating Celtic history as you explore some of the Emerald Isle’s most legendary and picturesque places.

Begin your full-day tour in County Meath, known as the Royal County, and the realm of the High Kings of Ireland. You’ll see artwork dating back 5,000 years, carved into stones here.

A breathtaking drive through Ireland's stunning countryside will take you to the old town of Trim. Enjoy a guided tour of legendary Trim Castle, the largest and best-preserved Anglo-Norman castle in Ireland.

From Trim you’ll travel to the most sacred site of ancient Ireland‚ the Hill of Tara. At one time, this high ground was the royal center of Ireland, and it is said that a quarter of Ireland's landscape can be seen from this hill.

Enjoy lunch at a spot where you can gaze for seemingly hundreds of miles and admire the beautiful green countryside. Leaving Tara you’ll pass through the village of Slane. Slane Castle is where many a pop concert has been held and where U2 recorded "The Unforgettable Fire"; it remains the residence of Ireland’s most famous aristocrat, Henry Conyngham, Earl of Mount Charles.

See the Celtic High Cross of Muiredach at Monasterboice, one of the best surviving examples of Irish religious art. From here it’s just a short drive to the historical town of Drogheda, where you’ll go on a walking tour of the town.
After the walking tour you'll have some free time to explore Drogheda’s streets and check out the local shops and street stalls. You can also opt for a bit of a whiskey tasting (ask your guide) before heading back to Dublin.
