Full description
The tour begins early in the morning when guests board the shuttle bus in Dublin. It arrives in Galway City at around 09:55. After a short break, board the 10:00 Connemara and Cong Tour. The first stop along the way is at Ross Errily Friary, a hidden but atmospheric 14th century monastery. Next, the tour enters Cong Village where there is plenty of time to explore Cong Woods, to see ancient Ashford Castle or stroll the town which is famous for being the location of the 1950s classic movie, 'The Quiet Man.' Or perhaps, if you’d just like to sit and relax, why not just enjoy a coffee on the edge of Lough Corrib, the largest lake in the Republic of Ireland. Entering Connemara on the Lough Nafooey route allows you to see the stark beauty of the hidden valley of Connemara before arriving at the Atlantic Ocean. (For hostellers there is an option to hop-off at Sleepzone Connemara.) The tour then continues to Kylemore Abbey where we break for lunch and sightseeing for 2 hours. Entrance into Kylemore Abbey & Gardens is not included in the tour price and is an optional fee. Leaving Kylemore late afternoon we drive through the Inagh Valley, Maam Cross & Oughterard and complete the circuit of Lough Corrib before arriving home to Galway City. You return to the Galway Coach Station at 18:00. Your ticket allows you to board the Galway Tour Company’s 18:15 Shuttle Bus arriving back in Dublin City Centre at about 21:00.

It’s a quite different tour as it was a relaxing one compared to some of the tours that we’ve gone. Great views and a lot of places were covered in just a day, but with an ample time to explore each tourist attraction. Great guide and a good itinerary as well.

Incredible day in Connemara! Spectacular green landscape and then a jewel of a castle nested in the mountain with a pool of tranquility out front. John feasted us with local history and took us to the scene town of the Quiet Man. Many stops for photos. Well done Galway Tour Company!9

great tour but.....

I really enjoyed the tour. It was amazing!I spent a wonderful day discovering magical places .The only thing that worried me was -on the way back from Galway I was dropped off at some random petrol station and told to wait for a bus taking me to Dublin. When I asked what time the bus will be here ,he said- soon .....(?) Then the bus driver drove off. The bus did arrive but I spent over 20 minutes worrying and wondering where I was ...
