What to Expect
Experience a mix of Ireland’s beautiful countryside and vibrant culture on a 6-day hike of Dublin and the Wicklow Way. Spend 2 nights in the fair city of Dublin, where exciting theater, fine-dining and wonderful pubs await. Explore the Viking city, so rich in history, and follow in the footsteps of literary giants and historical figures. Then, transfer to the Wicklow National Park and hike across country at your own pace. Avoid the hassle of carrying your luggage as this will be taken care of from site-to-site.

Day 1:
Following your arrival at Dublin Airport, transfer to the Dublin City Hotel for your 1st night’s accommodation. Enjoy the rest of the evening at leisure, and discover the music pubs and fine dining of the city center.

Day 2:
Follow the trail of “Molly Malone” as she wheeled her wheelbarrow through Dublin’s fair city! Learn the history of the Irish capital according to your own interests. There will be plenty of time to take in sights such as Trinity College, Dublin City Gallery and the Grand Canal Dock. Take the optional Dublin Literary Pub Walk in the evening. Then, return to the Dublin City Hotel for your 2nd night’s accommodation.

Day 3: (18-kilometer hike - approximate duration, 5.5 hours)
Following a full Irish breakfast at your hotel, transfer by taxi to Marlay Park. Start your hike of the Wicklow Way, walking through Marley Park before rising to cross the Dublin Mountains. Cross the boundary into County Wicklow, and descend into the Glencree Valley. The hike involves some road walking, along with forest and mountain paths, reaching a maximum height of 500 meters. Upon arrival in the village of Enniskerry, check into your accommodation for the night.

Day 4: (21-kilometer hike - approximate 7 hours duration)
Back on the Wicklow Way, continue across the Glencree Valley around the shoulder of Djouce Mountain. Go over White Hill to end in the lovely village of Roundwood. The walk takes you past the impressive Powerscourt Waterfall, before climbing Djouce Mountain and the high point of the day on White Hill. Mostly along forest and mountain trails (with some road walking), as you descend you will enjoy glorious views of the glacial lakes of Lough Tay and Lough Dan. Overnight in Roundwood.
