Full description
Get a better appreciation of what Dubai was like before the oil rush. Explore the historical Al Fahidi district to see the heritage sites along the narrow lanes. Enjoy a cup of coffee at a traditional Bedouin tent, and chat with the locals about their life. Get a souvenir photo of you with a falcon, and then admire the national dress of the UAE, including traditional abaya and kandura. Learn how to write your name in Arabic at the Calligraphy Museum. Stop at the Coffee Museum to sample some delightful blends in the café, and then go to an art gallery in a Persian house. Visit the oldest existing building in Dubai, Al Fahidi Fort, which dates back to 1787 and has recently been converted into a museum where visitors can learn more about the life of Dubai before the skyscrapers arrived. Recharge your batteries and stop for a quick street food bite (doner kebab or falafel sandwich).   Make your way to the textile souk near Dubai Creek. Marvel at the diverse colors of the cashmere and fine silk on sale, and learn the art of bartering to take home a unique souvenir. Cross the creek by traditional abra water taxi to try some dates covered in white chocolate made from camel milk. Breathe in the different aromas of the spice souk before going to the largest gold souk in the Middle East.

Great day with our English speaking guide Faheem. He looked after us very well and a little German, too. The tour was very informative and you could ask him anything. What I particularly liked is that he is very familiar with the prices in the souks so that you are not kidnapped. Towards the end we ate an ice cream with camel milk and then said goodbye at the end of the tour. We laughed a lot and enjoyed the day. The tour with him is definitely recommended.

The tour corresponds exactly to what you expect, you immerse yourself in the Arab culture. You visit a village from earlier days by showing and explaining how people used to live in the area. Then go to the Dubai Museum and finally through a few souks. Our guide Ben took enough time for all questions and this can make the tour a little longer, but it doesn't matter because this tour is simply an experience!

A fabulous day with a great guide

We had a grea day in this tour with Hoda. She met us in the morning at the designated meeting place. We were a bit worried because it was extremely hot, but Hoda made sure we were looked after all day. The tour took in some great spots and we met some really interesting people. Hoda provided great commentary and also answered all the questions we had. She was delightful to spend the morning with and we would thoroughly recommend this tour.
