What people are saying about Dover

Excellent tour, made especially more so by Tony Randall (our guide - not too be confused with the actor). Tony was very informative, professional, courteous, etc; obviously has great passion for his country and his job. Leeds Castle was just beautiful!! A hidden jewel! Canterbury Cathedral was inspirational (even with all of the scaffolding around it for repairs, etc.) The one slight disappointment was the Cliffs of Dover. Yes, still white, but SO surrounded by today’s commercialization that it just took away from what is obviously a natural wonder. Tony then even took us on a quick, impromptu walk-through of the Royal Naval Academy in Greenwhich (as we had a few extra minutes before boarding our River Thames taxi to take us back to the heart of the city). All in all, a wonderful day outside of the city!!

Small group of 19 so cramped in a small bus. Lil box lunch was a small sandwich water chips and a granola cookie. Leeds castle was ok nothing extravagant. Canterbury Cathedral ok. I say skip the church and walk around the town do some shopping i guess. Dover was a quick 10 mins. Take your pictures and on to the next stop. The thame river cruise is cool you can stop wherever you want along the river and do some exploring. Is it worth it yea beats staying inside the city.

Our tour was cut short by about an hour. Several of us understood we would be seeing the Meridian Line in Greenwich but instead we were rushed to the taxi boat and saw nothing in Greenwich. We merely rushed from the bus to the boat and our tour was ended an hour early.

This was a well planned and guided tour.

Our guide, Morton, was very informative and also very attentive and clear in his instructions. I enjoyed all the sights, especially Leeds Castle, which was a surprise. My main purpose was to see Canterbury. I would have liked a bit more time in Greenwich.

The bus was comfortable, driver was good giving us plenty of restroom breaks and guide had a nice talk - silence ratio. Box lunch was a little boring but not really enough time to have stopped for a hot meal.
