Start your morning off with a scenic drive by minibus through the Douro Valley to the town of Sabrosa. On this full-day tour that’s designed and priced for a group of up to 8 persons you’ll continue from Sabrosa to the Quinta do Portal wine estate. Enjoy a guided tour of the property and taste 2 of the estate’s wines in a contemporary tasting room that features panoramic views. Then, stop at Pinhão quay, in the heart of the Douro valley and enjoy a panoramic cruise. After this tasting session you’ll stop for lunch at a typical valley restaurant in a picturesque setting. In the afternoon you’ll continue with a tour of the Quinta da Roeda wine estate, where you’ll learn about its history and the wine-making process. Enjoy a tasting of the fine wines produced at after your tour of the facility. At the end of the afternoon you’ll return to Porto by the scenic roads of the Douro Valley.
Start with a pickup from your accommodation and a drive to the village of Casal de Loivos. Take a tour of the old olive oil mill turned into a museum, learn more about this very important product of the region, and taste 3 table wines, olive oil, almonds, and honey. Make a short detour to the neighboring viewpoint, considered to be the best one in the Douro Valley and one of the 7 best in the World. Descend to the village of Pinhão and visit the train station, an ex libris of the region, decorated with 24 tile panels depicting the history and traditions of the Douro Valley. Very tasty picnic in a very idyllic place between the grapevines. Very interesting guided tour afterwards + wine tasting. Everyone on site was very nice and our expectations were exceeded. I can only recommend it!
