Full description
Inis Meáin (Inishmaan) is the middle island among the three Aran Islands. The population of Inis Meáin is about 200 people.
There are over 300 flowering plants on the island, from places as far as the Arctic and the Mediterranean regions. A wide variety of nesting birds and natural ecosystems can be found on this serene Island.
The Island is a maze of winding roads, laneways and trails that take you around the rugged landscape. Like the other Aran Islands, there are rocky hillsides, beaches, and wildflowers blooming throughout.
The Aran Islands are believed to be an extension of the Burren Region in County Clare. The famous rocky landscape has helped to create its iconic image of an island divided by fields separated by winding stone walls. The stunning views from this Island reveal an Atlantic gateway from Connemara to Clare. You won’t be short of things to do and wonders to see on the island of Inis Meain. A full day is needed to see the sights of this beautiful island.
