The market is also known for its delicious local cuisine. Enjoy traditional Romanian dishes such as sarmale (stuffed cabbage rolls), cozonac (sweet bread), and kürtőskalács (chimney cakes). Sip on warm mulled wine or hot chocolate as you browse the stalls, with the aroma of roasting meats and baked treats filling the air, adding to the festive experience. Visitors can enjoy traditional Romanian carols, folk dancing, and live concerts throughout the day. The market is not only about shopping and eating—it’s a full cultural experience, with performances that showcase Romanian holiday traditions and create a joyful holiday atmosphere. Families and children will love the dedicated Santa’s Village, where they can meet Santa Claus and participate in holiday-themed activities. The market also features an ice skating rink, a fun and festive way to enjoy the holiday atmosphere. The market often hosts stunning ice sculptures and holiday-themed art installations that elevate the visual appeal of the square. These unique artistic displays make Craiova’s Christmas Market truly special. After a day of holiday cheer and exploration, relax during your comfortable ride back to Bucharest, reflecting on the festive experiences of the day.

Amazing trip with a brilliant guide called Andrei he was very welcoming and inclusive teaching us how to properly use the bikes and gave us a few practice runs to make sure we were confident before setting off on the tour he kept us updated on where we were going next and when we where coming up to the photo opportunities we had an amazing time would 100% do it again he was very informative and gave us lots of information about the city :)

Valentin was our guide. He was excellent. We did a late afternoon tour which was lovely to see the city transition from day to night. He’s very knowledgeable, he’s a local guy who’s lived in the city all his life and you can tell by his depth of knowledge. We’ve already recommended him to our friends that are visiting next month.
