The guide was a useful addition to our day but could have given more detail about the sites. The presenter sounded like he was just reading and occasionally pronounced words wrong which was a bit annoying.

  • From Athens: Private Road Trip to Delphi

    2. From Athens: Private Road Trip to Delphi

After pickup from your hotel in Athens, start the 2.5-hour journey to Delphi by car or minivan. Once you have arrived, begin your day exploring the rich and ancient history of this famous city.   Visit some of the city's most famous archeological sites. First, you will explore the sanctuaries of Apollo and Athena Pronaia before heading to the ancient stadium and theater. Continue to the Delphi ruins and the Temple of Apollo, before heading to the Delphi Archaeological Museum. See archeological artifacts and learn more about the rich history of Delphi at the museum.   You have the option to spend 2 hours visiting  the village of Arachova, where you can enjoy coffee or lunch. Alternatively, you can choose to have lunch or coffee in Delphi instead. After exploring Delphi and relaxing over lunch, begin the 2.5-hour journey back to Athens.

It was an amazing trip to Delphi + Arachova and the small stops on the way! My friends and I had a lovely time there and the driver (George) was just perfect; he had so much knowledge about Greek history which he told us about while driving through the city and the mountain terrain. He also recommended a lovely restaurant for lunch and the food was very good. He also had a lot of tips and recommendations for our small (but just perfect) stop in Arachova. We had just the right amount of time to explore the sites, museum and city, the driver let us take our time in every place. In general, it was a perfect trip and the driver made it even better!

  • From Athens: Mainland Greece 4-Day Private Tour with Hotel

    3. From Athens: Mainland Greece 4-Day Private Tour with Hotel

Day 1: Athens, Canal, ancient Corinth, Mycenae, Nafplion, Olympia Your private four-day tour starts from Athens early in the morning. Drive towards the scenic coastal road of Athens to the magnificent structure of the Corinth Canal, which is in the Peloponnese, the southern peninsula of Greece. The Canal connects the Saronic with the Corinthian Gulf in the Aegean Sea. A dream of the ancients, that came true in 1893. Time for a rest and some amazing photos above the canal. Leave Isthmos and driving to ancient Corinth (the city of Apollo and Aphrodite, plus one of the most important places of St. Paul who lived here for almost two years doing missionary work). Ancient Corinth was an important state city during the ancient years, the richest and most famous port of the ancient Greece. Make a short stop for some great photos. Here you will visit the archaeological site and ...

While the locations were worth the effort when you arrived; getting there was not much fun. Long days in a van without stops for meals and accommodation average.

The tour was great and especially Georg was a great driver. We felt very safe and well accompanied. He was very nice and gave his best so that we could enjoy the trip very much. Even if he was not hired as a tour guide he told us a lot. But the best was, he was there when we needed him but we also had enough freedom to take our one time when and where. The lunch was really good with a great view of Delphi and the archaeological site of Delphi was so great - for us a must see. We loved it. We definitely can recommend this tour.

George was our driver and he was absolutely awesome. Knowledge was great and he was very friendly. Was worth the price for him alone. On top of that, Delphi is a must. One of the most beautiful places on earth. Dinner was absolutely awesome too. Book it and request George!!

great thing, replaces every guide

We had booked this as a family, the young people could listen to the stories with their smartphones, very funny and informative. so everyone can pick out what interests them a little.

The tour was just myself and the driver, which was nice got to do everything at my own pace. Delphi is an absolute must see spot for anyone coming to Greece.
