What to Expect
Enjoy a day of soft adventure in the Ras Abu Gallum Protected Reserve on a full-day snorkel, camel and Jeep safari from Dahab.
You will drive to the Blue Hole by Jeep to experience the legendary snorkeling. Explore the reef slope, rich in hard coral, such as acropora, brain and star coral, and some soft coral. Swim among triggerfish, jacks, unicorns, parrotfish, angels, grouper and more.
Next, climb onto the back of a camel and ride along the coast of the Gulf of Aqaba to Ras Abu Gallum, afforded National Park status in 1992. On arrival at North Ras Abu Gallum, you will snorkel among fire coral, raspberry coral, small table coral, porites and salad coral. Marvel at marine life, such as butterflyfish, angelfish, anthias, glassfish, grey eels and batfish.
Continue to South Ras Abu Gallum to swim among rose coral, and encounter turtles if you are lucky. Look out too for pufferfish and smaller creatures, such as shrimps and nudibranch. After a return ride to the Blue Hole back on your camel, transfer by Jeep to Dahab at approximately 17:00.
