Marvel at the colored rocks of the Coloured Canyon in the Sinai Peninsula on a half-day safari from Dahab.
Formed by ancient ocean activity that dates back millions of years, the Coloured Canyon takes its name from the layers of multicolored stones that sweep across the steep, narrow walls in brilliant layers of pink, brown, yellow, and green.
Depart Dahab at 09:00 for the 2-hour drive towards Nuweiba on the coast of the Gulf of Aqaba. Historically, the area was inhabited by 2 different Bedouin tribes, and you will go to one of the Bedoiun camps for tea.
Hike through the canyon for about 2 hours, and experience the beauty of the desert up close. Follow in the footsteps of ancient tradesmen and pilgrims, admiring the dramatic effects of the light and shadows.
