Enjoy a rafting adventure in the company of other international travelers as you head down Peru’s Urubamba River, a waterway that runs from the high Andean ranges down through the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Add on an optional zipline activity afterwards.
What to Expect
Head to the Urubamba and the Apurimac rivers from Cusco for a day of adventure and rafting. Learn some basic rafting techniques, take in spectacular scenery, and enjoy a wet, thrilling ride.
After a pick you up at your hotel, you’ll have a 90-minute drive to the put-in point on the Upper Urubamba River, at the private Cusipata River Camp. The professional rafting guides will give you a safety talk and provide you with all the equipment necessary for your rafting adventure.
During your 2.5-hour rafting trip you’ll traverse class II and III rapids. During the rainy season, from December through early March, the rapids are rated class IV and IV plus.
When you arrive at the take-out point at Cusipata River Camp, a sauna and hot shower will be waiting for you, and full lunch will be provided as well.
If you’re interested, there is an optional zipline activity that takes you across the river on 4 different cables.
The return to Cusco should be at around 17:00 and you can have a look at the photos from the trip in the tour office when you arrive.
