An early start for a 6.10am pickup, but so worth it! The walk is beautiful and by starting early you miss the heat of the day. The way down is very steep and slippery, but as long as you wear suitable footwear it’s fine. We did it in about 4.5 hours including the odd stop for a drink and whilst we’re moderately fit, we don’t hike much. It’s great to get the time at the beach after to relax so definitely being swimwear. A must do whilst I’m Crete!
This was an amazing adventure. Some people were hiking with sandalas, but you must have a good sneakers or shoes. It wasn't so hard as some people would say. So grab a pair of sunglases, 2 or 3 bottles of water and prepared for an amazing hike, which mister Bilbo Baggins would appreciate so much. P.S. You should know, that in a second part of a hike you will not find so much spots to fill water bottles, so beware.
Our guide, Ioannis, was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The tour was varied with several stops, including a folklore museum, a cheese factory, a winery and a fantastic lunch. I wholeheartedly recommend this tour for those who want to learn something about village life rather than just lying on a sunlounger!
Our our guide was fantastic! She was so knowledgeable and really explained the history in an interesting way and at a good pace. Would highly recommend this tour.
Brilliant guide. Brought the Labyrinth to life. Very informative. So glad I did the tour. Highly recommend
