Full description
Start your day by meeting your guide at the stables, where you will have a relaxed cup of coffee before taking a basic training session to make sure you feel safe and comfortable while riding a horse. Then, hop on your horse and wagon to begin your ride out into the mountains. After riding for about an hour, you'll arrive at the top of the Finikia mountains, where you'll stop for a break. Help yourself to a soft drink, or fruit, and take a moment to admire the amazing views and snap a picture or two. In the distance, you can spot the nearby mountain of Archanes, the place where the Greek God Zeus is said to be sleeping. Then get back on your horses and wagon and make your way back to the starting point. After riding for another hour, you'll arrive at the stables and then sit down for a delicious traditional Cretan lunch, including homemade wine. After lunch, have a seat out in the garden of the stables, help yourself to some more wine, or enjoy a few more minutes of riding. At about 2:00 PM, you will head back to your hotel or apartment.

Great experience- great team and the fellow participants were also very nice. Overall we had a great time and lots of fun with the organisers as well as the horses! The lunch was also great at the end with most of the products being home grown! We would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to get some good views, have fun and see more of Crete!

Really great, memorable experience. Gregor picked us up in Stalis Am bang on time, we had coffee at his beautiful ranch, lots of jokes and laughs. He introduced us to our lovely horses and there was lots of help for complete beginners like us. Angela and Viagre the horses were very friendly. We went up in the hills in single file and there was scope at the end for the more experienced riders to go a bit faster at the end. Unseasonably hot day so might have considered the evening stint next time (nearly 40•). Once the horses were back we had a lovely lunch together provided by Gregory and his wife and they were very accommodating to two vegetarians in the group. Some homemade wine also offered which was a real treat. Cannot emphasise enough how funny and vibrant Gregor is as a host and how kind his daughter and helpers are - would definitely recommend and book again - Sian and Rob, August 2021

Shortly after arriving at the riding stables, it started. After a short briefing on how to get on the horse. Without riding experience everyone had his "own" horse, including our 6 year old son. There was always someone walking near him. The horses always run one behind the other and everyone had fun.
