We met our friendly guide-cum-driver Dmitris at the tour agency office and were taken to Anoskeli olive oil factory where we were given a tour of the facility before adjourning to the tasting area to sample their olive oil and a few of their wines. On this tour we were also accompanied by a local sommelier Andreas who shared his expertise with us. We were also taken to visit the oldest olive tree, and the olive tree museum next door. It was very interesting, lots of exhibits and tools on display. Lastly we had another round of wine tasting at a lovely restaurant Salis. Another a lovely outing, thank you Dmitris!

A great tour to learn about olive oil and taste wines, which we probably can only drink here in Crete on holidays, but best of all is seeing the places where it’s produced and meet the people behind. All the guides were really nice, very knowledgeable and helpful to explain why Crete is such a special place if it comes to food and drink! Highly recommended and be taken at the beginning of your holiday!

The guide was very informative. The first winery was educational, natural and the wines good. The second winery was very commercial, small group became a large group and shock horror a Canadian guide. Wines except for the dry white were very ordinary. Surely you can do better than this place.
