Know before you go

  • The Red Line operates in April - September between 9 AM – 630 PM (frequency of departures: every 10-45 minutes), in October - March between 9 AM - 530 PM (frequency of departures: every 30-60 minutes)
  • The last departure from Central Station/Tivoli Gardens is at 5 PM in summer and at 4 PM in winter
  • The boat tour departs from Nyhavn near bus stop number 8
  • Children between 0-2 years travel for free on buses when accompanied by a paying adult (maximum of 2 children per adult)

Great! A lovely day in Copenhagen with bus and boat. Our bus driver Peter L was just so lovely and kind. We got to see all the famous landmarks and were blessed with wonderful weather.

Easy to get around and see the different neighborhoods. We ended up getting off a few times and saving other areas to bike to on another day. I’d definitely do just the 24hours if you are into walking/biking/taking local transportation since we ended up using those options to visit some of the areas on the tour. We purchased the 48hr ticket and did not use it on day two. It was nice to just get lost and hop on a Lime bike when we needed to head home.

Both the bus and the boat tour are very good and show you the highlights of the city. Just be ware that there are four different red bus companies and you need to find the Redsightseeing bus one. The bus stops are not very visible, which is a shame. The bus is comfortable and protects you from the rain if necessary. There's a longer stop by the Little Mermaid, so you can go out, take a picture and come back in.
