Rome: Skip-The-Line Colosseum Guided Tour Reviewed by Teresa, 01/13/2017

Outstanding - our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and engaging

This tour is well worth the cost. First of all, we completely bypassed the lines, which were sizable during Christmas week. Secondly, our guide was wonderful. Her depth of knowledgable about the millennium span of the Roman Empire was very impressive, and allowed her to present everything we saw in a very helpful context. 3 hours was about as long as our kids could last, but unfortunately, it is not quite long enough to take in the Coliseum, the Palatine AND the Forum. Our guide focused mainly on the Coliseum, the Palatine and the arch of Titus at the southern (eastern?) end of the Forum. This was a good mix, and I learned much more about the Palatine than when my husband and I saw it 12 years ago on our own, but we did feel like we needed to return on our own later to show our kids the rest of the forum.

This is the tour all visitors to Rome must place on top of the list.

Very professional tour guide, who was a Phd archeologist. If you are a history buff, you'll be blown away.

Skip-the-line Ancient Rome and Colosseum Underground Reviewed by a GetYourGuide Customer, 11/05/2016

Excellent,informative and throughly enjoyable!

Our guide was very good and made our visit a memorable experience ,our group ranged from 14 to 68 years and we all enjoyed it . Thank you for a interesting informative walk through history on an early October morning.

Could have been better organised time wise.

Our tour was booked for 8.30. Pm. We arrived on time to find other people waiting. Tour guide turned up at 2105. She said that tour was running late and would start at 2225. Friday tours have been running late since May. Many clients declined as they had early starts for other tours the following day. We stayed for the tour of the outer parts of colosseum until the underground tour. We finished the tour. While the tour was going on, there was an electric storm whiçh went on for two hours. As we headed back to our hotel on foot, the heavens opened and we arrrived back to hotel soaking wet. We should have been informed well in advance that delays were iminent on a Friday. Apart from that we enjoyed the tour. ed d
