Head into the backcountry of Pike National Forest in your own 4x4 vehicle. Climb above timberline and enjoy spectacular views of alpine meadows, babbling brooks, and towering peaks of the Colorado Rockies.
What to Expect
The rugged Colorado Rockies are not for the faint of heart. With their towering peaks, gorgeous back roads, and dense pine forests, they are best explored by 4x4 on their rough back roads. Today, you'll spend the entire day exploring these back roads high in the mountains of the Pike National Forest. As you climb to nearly 11,200 feet above sea level, you'll pass through timberline to an alien world filled with unique creatures, beautiful red colors, and incredible vistas.
This is our most remote and scenic ride, highlighted with alpine meadows, wildflowers galore, beaver ponds, and bustling streams.
If the weather is nice, pop the top off your 4x4 and enjoy the "purple mountain majesty" of Pike's National Forest.
