Day 1: We will start exploring the Train Cemetery to observe the old locomotives. Then, we will head to Colchani, gateway to the Salar, where we will see artisan workshops and salt processing. We will continue to the majestic Salar de Uyuni, stopping to observe the salt extraction, the “eyes of the salt” and the Playa Blanca Salt Hotel, now a museum. Then, we will visit Incahuasi Island, famous for its giant cactus and panoramic views. In the afternoon, we will head to our lodging in the Salar to rest.
Day 2: After breakfast, we will depart to the Ollague Volcano viewpoint to enjoy desert and high Andean views. We will visit several high altitude lagoons such as Chiarkota and Hedionda, home of flamingos. We will continue to the Siloli Desert to see the Stone Tree and finally arrive at the impressive Laguna Colorada. Overnight in Huayllajara.
Day 3: We will start early with breakfast before exploring fumaroles and cracks in the earth. Afterwards, we will enjoy the Polques Hot Springs for a relaxing bath. Continue to the Salvador Dali Desert and Laguna Verde, located at the foot of the Licancabur Volcano. After visiting Villa Mar and the Valley of the Rocks, we will arrive at the town of San Cristobal. Finally, we will continue to Uyuni to conclude our trip.
Optional transfer to San Pedro de Atacama: After visiting Laguna Verde, you can opt for a transfer to the Hito Cajones border and then to San Pedro de Atacama in shared transport (ask for additional cost).
