Completed in 1911 under the direction of his pupil Paul Boeswillwald, the royal city was returned to its original splendor, finally being inscribed on UNESCO’s World Heritage list in 1997. We were extremely lucky to have our tour guide, Nathalie, to ourselves. She was very friendly and knowledgable and went to great lengths to ensure our tour was comfortable and informative. We asked her lots of questions about the Cathars and their history and she was happy to provide explanations - all in English. An excellent tour which gave us a good understanding before our visit to Château Comtal. Thank you.
