We had a phenomenal time on this tour. Our guide, Sachi, was excited, engaging, and enthusiastic. She communicated with me the day before the tour to discuss a time and meeting point. We had won the auction tickets, so she gave us an exact location to meet to make sure we arrived on time. She helped us navigate the tuna auction, and then also helped us find our way over to the Tsukiji market, where she pointed out the best stalls for us to eat at and sample. If it were not for this tour, we would have been totally lost! For context, we were 6 Americans and had the tour for ourselves.

Our activity was great! I highly recommend this tour. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and fun to talk with! She also has great recommendations for the rest of our Tokyo stay. We were a little bummed that we did not receive the proper information to enter the tuna market raffle ourselves, but were able to watch from the viewing deck, which was still very cool! Also note that you organize the transportation yourself (we did it through our hotel) and it is not included in the cost of the tour. We would definitely recommend the tour!!

1. Meeting up at 5:20 at Shijyo Mae station. (There is a hotel pick-up option at 5:00) ↓ 2. Going to Toyosu Market. Watching the world's biggest tuna auction area. ↓ 3. Visiting the professional market and eating fresh seafood. Japanese kitchen utensils including knives, Matcha(green tea), Miso shop, Pickles, Sake shop, etc. ↓ 4. Experiencing Japanese breakfast in the market. I have several recommendations including an exquisite Sushi restaurant. ↓ 5. Taking a bus to go to Tsukiji Market(Old Outer Market). ↓ 6. Visiting a local shrine which where supported by the local shop and restaurant. ↓ 7. Outer Market experience such as pottery shop, Sushi shop, sashimi(sliced seafood), grilled eel, Yakitori(grilled chicken), Local vegetable and fruit shop, tuna stake, Mochi etc. Important information: ■Transportation You will need to take a taxi. Subways and buses are not running in the early morning. Our guide can meet you at your hotel.However, the taxi fare will be at your own expense. It is recommended to stay in a hotel in the Toyosu, Tsukiji, or Ginza areas to minimize transportation costs. ■Lottery for tuna auction observation This is optional. We can tell you how to register for the lottery of the tuna auction observation. If you want to see from the 1st floor, please reserve your tour by the 5th of the previous month. (Please don't forget that you still need to register for the lottery!) ■ On a Tour Day If you win the lottery, please bring your passport or ID card. If you lose the lottery, we can still see the tuna auction from the 2 nd floor.

Tomoko was an excellent guide - she was very kind and polite - has very strong command of English and is filled with information about the Tuna Auction - complete with multi page presentation! The tuna auction was impressive - top recommendation for Tomoko and this activity!
