  • Krakow: Chopin Piano Recital at Chopin Concert Hall

    1. Krakow: Chopin Piano Recital at Chopin Concert Hall

Indulge your ears with the sounds of Chopin’s piano music, and experience one of the most important elements of culture. Appreciate the genius of Poland’s best-known composer in the unique atmosphere of Krakow's Market Square. Attend a special concert dedicated to Frederic Chopin, an icon of Polish and European music and a piano virtuoso in his own right, and listen to his most famous piano pieces performed by talented young pianists. Concerts are held in the Chopin Concert Hall, decorated with Gothic architectural elements. Listen to nocturnes, mazurkas, and polonaises, in which Chopin expressed his feeling of longing for his homeland. The combination of atmospheric interior and excellent music will provide an unforgettable experience, and not just for music aficionados.

Very pleasant evening! Go to the square for dinner and then walk to the concert hall. A gentleman will give you a warm welcome and a glass of wine. The room itself sits maybe 50 people, but there were about 7 people there on a weekday night. This was great because it felt more intimate and you were much more connected to the pianist. This is how music should be listened to! The concert is about an hour, so it’s perfect after a long day of exploring. Afterwards, find a place serving dessert pierogies!

  • Krakow: Royal Chamber Orchestra Classical & Film Music Show

    2. Krakow: Royal Chamber Orchestra Classical & Film Music Show

Enjoy a performance by the Royal Chamber Orchestra. The Royal Chamber Orchestra is an ensemble consisting of outstanding musicians from Krakow, who graduated from The Academy of Music, giving performances all over the world. Their music is the combination of excellent taste, unlimited imagination, and the perfect technique. Chopin Gallery is located in an historic 15th century building, which used to be a house of the Huntmaster for the Royal Family, Kaspar Dębiński. The concert hall has unique acoustic and the intimate atmosphere.

6pm concert was cancelled and we were told to go to a different venue at 7.30pm. No reflection on the musicians though, the performance lasted for 50 mins and was an enjoyable take on film scores. Good way to spend an hour on a Saturday evening
