Chiang Mai 3-Hour ATV & White-Water Rafting Adventure

2. Chiang Mai 3-Hour ATV & White-Water Rafting Adventure

Before starting your activity, a safety orientation and state-of-the-art helmets and life vests are provided. The first 3-hour ATV (all-terrain vehicle) trip is set up for beginner to intermediate-level drivers. It covers roughly 40-kilometers in distance and is a mix of road and off-road jungle terrain. It’s well-suited for those that would like to explore the local countryside and see it a different way. After the ATV, the 10-kilometer white-water rafting will begin. It's broken into 3 sections. The first section is a great warm-up where you learn skills practising with the guides and getting used to the boat. This section has one class III and is probably the most beautiful section of the river with the encroaching jungle offering lots of shade. The second section is action-packed with rapids and is probably the best white water in Thailand. Most of this section is class III and IV rapids. The third section lets up in the beginning giving you some time to relax before entering a great class III rapid, leading into a short continuous section of rapids that goes almost all the way to the take out where the camp is. Towels and shower facilities will be provided when you finish before heading home. Make sure you bring a second set of dry clothes so you can ride home comfortablly.

I wish I could give even more stars! The excursion was perfect. We were picked up on time and the daily routine was explained to us. Since we didn't manage to eat breakfast, a snack was organized for us. During the hike to the waterfall, many highlights of flora and fauna were explained to us. The route was varied and exciting. Arrived at the waterfall, you could cool off here. Then it was back on the same route. The lunch that followed was delicious. Then we were driven to the starting point of the white water rafting. Because of the dry season, small boats were used. Each participant was in a boat with a guide. Even though the river was low, it was a great experience. Our safety was taken care of at all times. At the end, for a reasonable fee, you could buy the pictures that were taken during the hike and water rafting throughout the day.

The 3 hour ATV ride is perfect for beginners and intermediates. It's a little slow for advanced riders looking for an adrenaline rush. Not a criticism - just an observation for everybody. The elephant park scenery stop is beautiful and the waterfall trek was good fun. We took the 2 person/3 person inflatable kayaks with a guide in each one vs the full raft into the river. This is what they use during low water season. I've used both kinds of rafts on the water before. The inflatables are WAY more fun. I recommended they offer single seat inflatables to more advanced guests. Those types of craft are the most fun.

It was such an amazing activity. Extremely professional and polite team that took really good care of me. I was a bit nervous but Eric spoke to me at length before hand and on the activity day K. Sak made me very comfortable. From there on my captain Taa and his team Nadia and Lok made sure had an truly memorable experience. Highly recommend this trip and 8 Adventures team.

Great experience. Truly felt safe the entire time and the captains went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. Very funny guys who also knew the local areas intricacies well both in terms of the white water rafting and the scenery

Service very nice helpful and professional. One of the best trips I've ever been on.
