Elephant PooPooPaper Park is an eco-friendly, naturally built, outdoor museum park focused on introducing and explaining the unique steps involved in making our world famous paper products from elephant poo fibres.
What to Expect
Leave the city to visit the north part of Chiang Mai to the mountain area see elephants at work at Mae Sa Elephant Camp. See elephants taking their morning bath in the running streams before starting their daily training and working. After, you will experience elephant trekking through the jungle for one hour. Lunch will be provided at the local restaurant.
Then, you will continue to visit Elephant PooPooPaper Park, which is an amazingly refreshing and unique eco-friendly naturally built outdoor museum focused on introducing and explaining the unique steps involved in making memorable and world famous paper products from elephant poo fibres. Visitors will as well be introduced to Chiang Mai’s long and rich history of traditional paper-making and handicraft production. Trace the history of paper from its invention in China almost 2000 years ago and its evolution throughout Asia, Egypt, Europe and the Americas and see how they make paper from animal waste, namely elephant poo. Then you will experience how to create your own elephant poo ‘Greetings Card’ made by your own design.
Before returning to Chiang Mai, make a stop at the orchid farm to see the varieties of the orchids that bloom all year round.
