Mr Kam was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. On the tour was myself, my husband and a young man traveler. Nice small group meant it was easy to ask questions. The trek was not an easy trail at times. We’re used to these types of hikes in our Rocky Mountains, so this was not a problem for us but could be problematic if mobility is an issue. We stopped at the lower temple where a monk ordination was taking place. We were then driven up to the top of Doi Suthep where there was a huge complex temple and LOTS of people- praying, giving offerings- obviously a very religious place for Buddhists. Tourism in Thailand is currently low due to COVID2019 and no Chinese tourists being allowed out of China, so this was the first time we saw so many Asians in one place. Lunch padthai was okay. We stopped at a waterfall and dipped our toes in. Water level is really low due to drought conditions. We were grateful to be driven back to our hotel even tho the description said we wouldn’t be.

Great time! Mr. Kam is a great guide very funny and knowledgeable. The hike was quite easy, anyone healthy will have no problems at all even if not very athletic. But it was a nice descent from the temple through the jungle. Food was simple but very good Pad Thai and fresh fruits. The waterfall is nice to bathe in and comes at almost the end of the hike so it is refreshing. Total time was less than expected around 4 hours. It was definitely worth it for Mr. Kam's stories and his clear love for the forest.

Quick tips they forget to mention in the description : bring long pants or skirt for the temple and good shoes for a serious hike. Ours was 3 hours but there is a shorter one for 2 hours. The hike is totally doable if you are in semi-decent shape. We luckily had no injuries in our group but there are definitely points where you could slip easily and just fall down hard possibly over a cliff. The guide, Mr K I think, said that other people have indeed gotten very injured in the past. We brought swimsuits and towels but didn't go swimming. Well organized and were responsive to questions even before the tour. They reached out via email two days before to confirm details and get passport info for insurance purposes. Picked up on time and driven up the mountain to the temple first and then scaled down to the three waterfalls. The guide was super nice and truly loved the forest. He was very enthusiastic and wished he could go hiking every day. His English was good enough.
