What to Expect
Experience traditions and customs that have been at the heart of Thai culture for centuries. Gain a rare insight into Buddhist practice and Dharma, and make a merit to the Sangkha monks. This is a spiritual tour, bound to vitalize and energize you on your visit to Chiang Mai.
Hop on board a Songathaew–a traditional public bus. Enjoy a scenic drive along Suthep Road stopping-off at Kad Ton Payom along the way. This is a bustling market, well known for its northern Thai cuisine. Afterwards, offer alms to the monks, and enjoy a traditional breakfast.
Visit Wat U-Mong, a 600-year-old temple famed for its large painted pagoda and underground tunnel. Soak up the serene atmosphere and perhaps take the opportunity to talk with the abbot about Buddhism.
You will also have to opportunity to visit Wat Suan Dok and mingle with monks. Learn about their customs and everyday routines. Take some time out to learn basic meditation, and make an offering to the Sangkha.
