Cruise the Chiang Mai countryside. The trip starts with a train ride to Lamphun. Visit some historical temples in this ancient capital before biking back to Chiang Mai through the countryside and forested foothills.
What to Expect
Pedal across the city to the train station. Arriving at the historic Lamphun train station with your bikes. Soon find yourself riding the quiet streets of the small city, which was once the capital of an ancient Mon Kingdom. Pedaling past its ancient walls to arrive at the famous Wat Phra That Hariphunchai with its imposing chedi.
From here the bike tour strikes out across the countryside biking through villages, along canal and tree lined lanes. Enjoy a simple Thai lunch in a village market. After lunch cycle through paddy fields until coming upon the famous wood carving village of Ban Tawai. On from here meander through country lanes to the foothills of Doi Suthep to a Beekeeping Center. After a few ups and downs on forested lanes we arrive at the forest temple of Wat Umong before returning to the city. The total riding distance of the tour is 55 km and take 6 - 8 hours.
