Day 1: Arrival and Chennai to Mahabalipuram
Meet the rest of the group upon arrival in Chennai and drive to Mahabalipuram, the former capital of the Pallava Kings. Discover Mahabalipuram’s splendid 7th and 8th-century art and architecture. Check-in at the hotel and spend the night here.
Day 2 : Mahabalipuram to Pondichery (Meals: B)
After breakfast, begin with a visit to the magnificent 7th-century Shore Temple which is surrounded by lush gardens and Arjuna's Penance, a 1,900 square feet rock block. Next, head to the Five Rathas Shrine from the 7th-century, the world's largest stone relief. Spend the rest of the afternoon resting on the beach. Later, drive to Pondichery and check-in at the hotel. Spend the night here.
Day 3: Pondichery to Chennai (Meals: B, L)
After breakfast, enjoy some sightseeing at Matri Mandirat Auroville, Sri Aurobindo Ashram, and the Pondicherry Museum and Sculpture Gallery. Try out some French cuisines with an exotic Indian twist. Afterwards, drive back to Chennai for drop-off at your hotel or airport.
