  • Chefchaouen: Day Tour to the Blue Town from Fez

    1. Chefchaouen: Day Tour to the Blue Town from Fez

The tour will start with you being picked up at 8.00 AM from your accommodation in Fez. After boarding your private vehicle, you will make your way towards Chefchaouen, located in the Rif Mountains near Tangier. Upon arrival, you can marvel at the incredible blue walls that make this town famous. You will have about 4-hours to explore the picturesque small city streets of the medina. As this is a private tour, you have the luxury to decide how you would like to spend your time and there are many activities to choose from. You can discover the local shops and cafes and see the main square known as Plaza Uta el-Hammam. To experience some culture you may wish to head to the Kasbah Museum, the Grand Mosque or the Ethnographic Museum which contains musical instruments, antique weapons, and photographs of the old town. You can also stop off at the Ras Elma river that runs through the old city...

Hassan was my driver - he was super friendly and very knowledgeable. He spoke fluent English and was able to answer all of my questions. The SUV I was picked up in was very luxurious, with air conditioning which is a MUST for the 4-hour trip. In Chefchaouen, it felt a bit rushed, so it was difficult to experience the full city, but I took some great pictures, and got an overall sense of the area. Chefchaouen was great, Hassan was great, I would definitely recommend.

  • From Tangier: Day Trip to Chefchaouen and Akchour Waterfalls

    3. From Tangier: Day Trip to Chefchaouen and Akchour Waterfalls

Visit Chefchaouen, a beautiful blue door and white-walled medina that was originally a Berber post. The main square is the heart of Chefchaouen, with the 18th-century kasbah, a central mosque and cafes with authentic Moroccan style menus. The market is a mix of traditional Moroccan and tourist souvenirs — it’s often very busy, but worth a visit for the bargains. On your walking tour with your driver, explore the kasbah which was built by Moulay Ismail and is now practically a ruin next to the Great Mosque. Visit the charming main square and the souks that sell an array of goods. If you head to the Jewish quarter behind the jewelry souk, you will feel the difference between it and the main Arabic feel of the town. Afterwards, discover the waterfalls of Akchour, a natural beauty, and the small breathtaking waterfalls. A local tour guide is provided at Akchour.

My wife and I loved our Chefchaouen tour. Youssef, our guide for our time in the blue city, was both knowledgeable and funny: it felt like we were being guided by a friend. He spoke fluent English and really gave us a great experience. Our driver was also incredibly friendly, punctual, and safe. While we were (slightly) disappointed that the tour booked a guide for the Akchour Waterfalls that did not speak any English (we are NOT disappointed in him; he was great! We just assummed that we ordered an English speaking tour). It was still a great time and he made our experience great, too. Keep in mind: this tour was for individuals that did not mind rock scrambling on semi-challenging terrain. In fairness, our guide may have given us the option to choose which path to take, but there was no way of knowing this because we did not share the same language. All in all, a great experience! :)

I have nothing but good things to say about my tour to Chefchaouen and Akchour today. My day started with Monsif greeting me at the scheduled time. Monsif was very friendly, professional, and made sure I got to my destination on time while driving very carefully. My tour guide for the day was Omar, and I must say, he gave the best tour I have gotten while I was in Morocco. Just to name a few things about the tour experience: - He was very knowledgeable about the history of Chefchaouen - He picked the best spots to view the inside and outside of the city - He did not push stores or vendors to buy from - He made sure I was safe the entire way through the tour/hike overall, he is a very friendly and great guide and person I strongly recommend this tour for anybody looking to tour Chefchaouen and Akchour for the day!! Thank you again Monsif and Omar for the amazing and unforgettable experience!!!

Punctuality - they picked me up at 8 am in my Riad as agreed. Tour group size - we were a very small group (2 ppl) but I was happy & thankful they did not cancel it in spite of that. The car was a comfy 4x4 in this case as we were 2 plus our driver. We had a great time in Chefchauen. It is a small city, so 4 hours is more than enough. We managed to see everything, we took awesome pictures and got lunch there. I highly recommend this tour!

Our driver, Mr. Abderrahmane, was so professional, driving so well, that the 4 hours ride passed very pleasant and in the same time we felt safe. Ask for him to have to best experience given the long and difficult ride to Chefchauen! We totally recommend the trip, event tough in the beginning we were not so decided to go, but took the best decision :).

What an amazing city! Was definitely worth it to stay the night, Chefchaoun comes alive at night! Our driver Faoud was incredible and so hospitable! He went out of his way to make sure we had everything taken care of, Thank you Faoud!
