Chateau de Chantilly Chantilly is one of the most impressive palaces and estates north of Paris, and one of the jewels of French heritage. The ancestral home of the Prince de Condé and the Duc d'Aumale, it is set in 7800 hectares of forest. It is a museum in itself, with a treasure trove of 1,000 paintings, 2,500 drawings, 2,500 engravings by Raphaël, Ingres, Wateau, Poussin, Delacroix... and 30,000 precious books. It contains collections of remarkable furniture from the 18th and 19th centuries. The Galerie des Batailles is once again open to the public to view the sumptuously restored décor and twelve paintings depicting the victories of the Prince de Condé. Castle gardens After the tour, you'll stroll through the French gardens.
