Chalmette Battlefield: Tours & Tickets
What people are saying about Chalmette Battlefield
This excursion was one of our best memories of our trip to NOLA. The boat was comfortable with lots of room for everyone to spread out. The lunch was tasty and plentiful and the tour guide was so knowledgeable about NOLA and the events that took us to the war of 1815 that you could vividly picture the battle. A must-see for everyone.
Well, I enjoyed the experience, however my people were 3/5 of a human when much of Louisiana was established, and I didn’t get a vote, on whether to forgive all crimes, past, present, & future, for Confederate President Jackson, So I didn’t appreciate the statue, or the memorial park, dedicated to him in the French quarter!!!
We rode about 35 minutes to and from the Chalmette battlegrounds. Our narrator, Charles was wonderful ! He was funny and very easy to listen to. Lots of valuable historical information and a very emotional and factual account of hurricane Katrina and its aftermath. Great time.
The ship's office did not have any information about us buying the optional meal and said they were only reimbursed for the trip. They did not recognize the voucher I showed them. They ended up giving us the buffet that we had paid for, so everything turned out o.k. for us.
The historical commentator Was wonderful knowledgeable and taught us so much local history that also translated to national history . The food was excellent . Enjoyed the trip and would recommend it to anyone.
