The guided tour was excellent. It was cloudy at the top so we could only climb to 3,000m. This was still great day out and it didn't feel like we missed anything. Walked through number of craters, some still hot with steam coming out. Our guide (Francesco aka. Cico) seem to know every rock on the mountain. Never met someone so knowledgeable and passionate about volcanos. He made 6 hours trek entertaining for everyone in the group. For those that didn't have required equipment on the day, walking poles, boots and waterproof jackets were available free of charge. Would definitely do it again when in Sicily

Our guide Luca showed us around very well and told a lot of interesting information with a lot of humor. It was a very fun day. The only thing that caused confusion was the meeting point, as we received a different address by email and SMS. After other visitors had the same problem, we decided to call the SMS number and were able to solve the problem quickly.

We had an exciting excursion with the guide Vincenzo (in French and English), who provides hiking shoes and jackets if needed. We had an appointment at 8:20 a.m. and left around 3:20 p.m., very tired but happy! The ascent and descent are physical but do not require you to be seasoned athletes. Etna is superb, the panoramas breathtaking. A must do to get as close as possible to the main crater, which is currently erupting!
