After boarding, begin by receiving a full briefing on your safety and comfort for your cruise. From there, hit the open water and navigate the coast off of Rio Arade, the village of Ferragudo, medieval castles, and the Atlantic Ocean. Cruising east, pass Carvoeiro, which contains the famous rock formation of Algar Seco. Arriving to the lighthouse of Alfanzina, transfer to a small boat to visit the inside of the local caves which run from the lighthouse to Marinha Beach. These caves include the famous cathedral cave of Benagil. Returning to the boat, take a dip to swim in the enticing crystal clear water which surrounds you. On your return journey, be on the lookout for dolphins, which are regularly spotted in this area.

We had a fantastic morning cruise on the Santa Bernarda, and I would strongly recommend this experience to visitors to the Algarve. The limestone cave formations are well worth exploring and the skilled crew took us inside quite a few in the ship's launches. Swimming from the ship was a treat for those who wanted to cool off and the crew couldn't have been more helpful. Particular thanks to Nuno the guide, who spoke at least 4 languages fluently and was great with our young daughter, who now wants to sign up as first mate when she's old enough!

The boat is very well done. The staff is competent and friendly, commenting on the journey in several languages: Portuguese, Spanish, English and French. For my taste, they admit many people in each crossing, almost that you cannot move with all the freedom that one would like. When it comes to getting on the boats to see the caves, logically several shifts are made and the others must wait. I think the price is a bit high. The visit to the caves is quite short, giving you time to take a couple of photos and little else. In any case, the experience is very good.

The tour was amazing! Absolutely worthy and much better than visting the caves on an ordinary touristic boat. My son loved it! We visitied a lot of caves and we built great memories :) Only negative point: in the description it was mentioned that we could have a swim at the Marinha but that didn't happen, no idea why...maybe not enough time (there were a lot of ppl because we went in high season). I definitely recommed it!
