What to Expect
Get to know Cartagena and its Old Town on a 3-hour walking tour. This private, guided tour, heads through the historic neighborhoods in the district and focuses on the elaborate colonial architecture.
Start with a visit to Plaza de Bolívar, formerly known as Plaza de Inquisición, home to some of the city’s most elegant colonial buildings. Passing numerous outdoor cafes and the large statue of Simon Bolívar in the center of the plaza, make your way to the Cathedral of Cartagena.
Dating back to the 16th century, the cathedral is located across the plaza from the Government Palace. Nearly preserved in its original form, the interior of the cathedral is simply decorated with massive semicircular archways supported on large stone columns.
Continue on to San Pedro Church, in nearby San Pedro Claver Square. Learn the history behind this imposing building, and admire the beautiful stained-glass windows and high altar constructed from Italian marble.
At the end of your tour, you'll be transported back to your hotel.
