What People Are Saying About Cape Town
Guide was very informative and covered all the itinery in a professional manner.
It was a nice trip, but the first part was not in german as ordered. Caused by other guest, which only joind for a half day, we hat to be confortable with an english speaking tour. The wine tasting was in german an it was good. Besides the language issue, I can really recommend this tour.
A great day out visiting vineyards that look after the community or were different to the usual over 'commercial' vineyards. The guide was so effervescent from meeting to leaving, that she felt more like a friend you hadn't seen for a long time, than a stiff guide. She was knowledgable about much more than wine and pointed out many places, told many anecdotes & gave information as we travelled between vineyards. At 8.45am we were picked up & taken to the first vineyard, Villiers, for about 4 sparkling wine tastings. Perfect start, followed by the next vineyard, with a number of white and red wines, then a plentiful lunch, with choices ranging from bobotie, to other meat dishes and a vegetarian option. Plus a very large full glass of either red, white or rose wine. More vineyards in the afternoon, plus cheese tasting. A 70% chocolate sufficed as the chocolate accompaniment at one. We think we tasted about 28 wines, but to be honest we lost count. A really enjoyable recommended day!
We had great guide/driver who knew a lot and has a great sense of humor. The day was beautiful as well as the surroundings. Only downside was, that there was little time to enjoy the view when stopping & getting out to see the view (for pictures). Quickly taking pics and getting back in the bus seemed to be the goal. This instead of enjoying the great surroundings. But all in all, a great day!
We went to two different vineyards and had tastings with cheese and meat respectively, and it was great! That said, the tour stated that we would "Explore the charming town of Stellenbosch and learn about historical Dorp Street and DeBraak," and we just drove through Stellenbosch breifly and did not really learn much history. I would still recommend this tour, especially for the price, but I would recommend the company clarify exactly what you are doing.
