Speed & Jet Boat Tours

Our trips departing from Quay 5 in the Waterfront. With a bit of luck you will have a chance to see Cape Fur Seals, Dolphins, Whales, Penguins and Sun Fish and potentially much more as we search the bay for sea life. The destination of the tour is not always the same as this trip is really about spending time on the water and looking for the rich sea life that can be found in the proximity of Cape Town. However you can be assured that you will have amazing views of the Table Bay and will be able to see some of Cape Town most amazing landmarks from the water: Table Mountain, Signal Hill, Lion's Head, Camps Bay and Clifton Beaches, Robben Island. You will of course be able to take pictures when the speedboat occasionally stops to make sure you have memory of such incredible experience. The trip starts with a safety briefing by the skipper, the fitting of life jackets and the signing of the indemnity in our offices on Quay 5. Children are welcome as long as they are under the supervision of adults. Our expeditions are weather-dependent and routing will depend on the expected weather conditions for the day.

Gaze at the beauty of the ocean as well as at the beauty of the Cape Town Atlantic Coastline. Cruise along and see the city from a different perspective. During the tour, you have the chance to see dolphins, cape fur seals, whales, penguins, sunfish, and more depending on the season. Get views of the 12 Apostle Mountain Range, Signal Hill, Lions Head, and Table Mountain as you make your past Sea Point, Clifton, Camps Bay, and Oudekraal. 

Set off from Hout Bay and pass Sentinal Mountain on your way toward Duiker Island. Once there, stop to admire the over 4,000 fur seals that live on Duiker Island, and learn about them and their history with your guide. Next, head toward the scenic and photographic area of De Jossie, underneath Chapman's Peak. Cruise alongside Chapman's Peak as your guide informs you about the granite and cave. To conclude your tour, get ready to hold on tight and feel your adrenaline pumping. Experience a speed run on your boat and spin through 360-degree turns on your way back to the harbor.

Meet at the dive shop to complete paperwork, listen to an informative briefing, and try on your snorkeling gear. Head to the snorkeling site and get into the water with your PADI qualified guide. Go on a 1-hour search for seals and other marine life including dolphins, whales, penguins, sunfish, and much more. Share the beauty of the ocean with these playful mammals. Learn about the Cape's fur seals habits and experience their friendly nature first hand.  Take a picturesque drive from the V&A Waterfront past well-known sites including the Lions Head and the Twelve Apostles. 

Meet at the shop to complete paperwork and listen to a short safety briefing before boarding. Experience thrill and adventure onboard a speedboat as you make your way along the Atlantic coastline passing Granger Bay, Sea Point, and Clifton. Included in the tour are some high-speed turns and smooth but fast driving. Admire the spectacular views of Cape Town from the boat.  You will also have a chance to see a variety of marine life including whales, African penguins, Cape fur seals, dolphins, sunfish, and countless species of bird life. The adventure boat ride is perfect for those seeking a bit of speed and adrenaline. It is perfect for those who want to be on the ocean for a long period of time but still want to experience the adventure of the speed boat ride. 

Join the most prolific Whale Watching Operator in the Hermanus area, launch from the quaint fishing harbor of Gansbaai and travel along the cliffs of De Kelders, proven to be the best area with the highest concentration of whales on the South African Coastline. Along the way hear about local commentary of whales, and facts about right whales. Learn about the habitats and their feeding processes. Look for southern right whales in their natural environment, along with dolphins, Cape fur seals and other marine life. Keep an eye out for humpback, minke and Bryde's whales frolicking in the ocean. Join the longest operating Seal Snorkeling team in Cape Town at their comfortable Snorkel Centre for a unique marine wildlife adventure! Arrive at the Snorkel Centre to sign in, be sized for your equipment and enjoy refreshments and the souvenir shop before getting into your wetsuit and listening to an educational and safety briefing by one of the Marine Guides. You'll then hop into the Seal Mobile for a short 5-minute drive to the Hout Bay Harbour, where you will be greeted by the waiting boat and skipper. On board you will receive a boat safety briefing before starting the trip out of the harbour. You will stop to see your first seals sunning themselves within the harbour before the boat picks up speed and transports you quickly and safely to Duiker Island - a 10 to 15-minute boat ride away. Once at the island the trained crew on board will give you an area orientation briefing and help you kit up with your mask, snorkel, fins and gloves. You'll then slide into the Atlantic Ocean and become immersed in the world of the Cape fur seals! Spend 50-minutes snorkeling alongside these friendly creatures as they admire you, and watch as they swim and play alongside one another. Back on board you will be offered hot chocolate, drinking water and biscuits - as well as warm water to be poured into your wetsuit to take away the chill! Marvel at your experience and share photos whilst you get ready to head back. On arrival at the Snorkel Centre have a quick hot water shower and get changed before joining your guides to share your experience over a cup of hot tea or coffee, or plan the rest of your day online with the shared WiFi available.

Set off from the iconic V&A Waterfront in a rubber duck vessel and head to Granger Bay for a gin and tonic sundowner. Enjoy the sunset at sea with picturesque views of the Table Mountain Range. Have the chance to see dolphins, whales, penguins, sun fish and much more. Meet at the shop to complete paperwork and then listen to an informative briefing. Enjoy the 1.5-hour tour of the V&A Waterfront and Granger Bay area. After a cruise around to search for some of the marine life, anchor in the Granger Bay area to watch the stunning sunset while enjoying refreshments.

In just 20 minutes you’ll be out of Cape Town’s city center and traveling along the Overberg south coastal route to Gordon’s Bay, Pringle Bay, and Betty’s Bay. The route is picturesque and is an enjoyable way to set the mood for the full day ahead. Travel beneath Sir Lowry’s Pass and see the sheer cliff faces that drop into the Indian Ocean below. As you near Betty’s Bay, you’ll have views of unspoiled beaches stretching for miles. Stop to see the breeding ground of the African penguins at Stony Point or visit the Harold Porter National Botanical Garden. Continue the drive through Hermanus to the seaside town of Gansbaai. The magnificent cliffs of De Kelders and the unspoiled beach provide for perfect land-based whale watching. In Gansbaai, you’ll head out on a 2-hour whale-watching journey. The purpose-built boat and restrictions on the number of passengers make it possible to fully enjoy the experience of observing these creatures at play. Afterwards you’ll head back along the coast to Hermanus for a late lunch (not included in the tour price). There’s much to see and discover in Hermanus, including up-market shops and arts and crafts stalls. Head along the N2 to the Peregrine Farm Stall, the final stop on the tour. Experience old-fashioned values and quality produce straight from the farms.

Departing the V&A waterfront harbor by boat, learn more about the massive role that the harbor played in the development of Cape Town as a city. Discover more about the various sites of historic significance from your expert crew. Stop for a perfect photo opportunity of the famous Table Mountain, from the waters of Granger Bay.
