What to Expect
Explore the famous Cape Winelands of South Africa on a full-day wine tasting tour from Cape Town, stopping at 3 different wine estates to sample the produce of the region.

Depart from Cape Town at 09:00, and drive to Vrede en Lust in Paarl. En route, you will pass the Victor Verster Prison, now renamed the Drakenstein Prison. This is where Nelson Mandela spent the last part of his incarceration for campaigning against apartheid. Nestled in the foothills of Simonsberg, Vrede en Lust is a working wine farm and one of South Africa’s best loved wineries. You’ll get to sample examples of the produce, which frequently wins wine awards.

Continue to Franschoek, where the French Huguenots settled in 1820. Visit La Motte winery, where the produce is recognized internationally for its excellence. Sample wines in the refurbished tasting rooms, seated at handmade tasting tables. Next, work up an appetite on a walk around town, and visit a monument to the French Huguenots.

Lunch will be served at La Petit Femme or Delaire Graff (own expense), before departing for Stellenbosch at 15:00. Stellebosch is the 2nd oldest town in South Africa, and you’ll reach it via the magnificent Helshoogte Mountain Pass. Take a short walk through the historic town before your last tasting at the Delaire Graff wine estate. Soak up the lovely atmosphere of Cape Dutch architecture and African artifacts in the grounds.
