What to Expect
This tour is ideal for those who are short on time but would like to get to see all the Cape's major attractions in one day. The journey begins with a scenic drive along the Atlantic Seaboard to Cape Point, with Table Mountain and Lion's Head as a back drop drive past the beautiful beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay. Get a clear view of the Twelve Apostles Mountain range as the tour takes you through Chapman's Peak Drive, one of the most scenic drives in the world, here you will experience spectacular views of the Atlantic coastline.
Feast your eyes on glorious stretches of sandy beaches and unspoilt boulders as you drive through the residential suburbs of Llandudno, Hout Bay and Misty Cliffs to Cape Point Nature Reserve. As you drive through the Nature Reserve to the most south western tip of Africa, Cape Point, you will be entertained by the occassional appearence of Chacma baboons, ostrich, Cape Mountain Zebra, a plethora of bird species and not forgeting the extensive range of plant life. Here you will visit the historic Cape Point Lighthouse, first built in 1850. The lighthouse offers spectacular 360 degree ocean views and on a clear day it feels like you can see all the way down the Antarctica.
The tour then proceeds along the picturesque False Bay coastline to Boulders Beach where you will have the opportunity to visit the famous penguin colony.
Continue the drive with a journey to the heart of the Cape Winelands, Stellenbosch. This part of the tour will take you through majestic mountain back drops, lush rolling vineyards and finely preserved classic gabled Cape Dutch Homesteads rich in history and character. Here you will visit 2 wine estates for a cellar tour accompanied by a cheese and wine tasting.
Afterwards take a tour of the old age town founded in 1679 and the second oldest town in the country. Enjoy the towns holiday atmosphere characterised by oak lined streets containng many national monuments, finely preserved examples of Cape Dutch architecture, museums, art galleries, antique shops and street side restaurants.
The tour ends with a scenic late afternoon drive back to Cape Town.
