Full description

Dive into Mayan culture with this full-day immersion in the incredible archaeological site of Chichén Itzá, named one of the New 7 Wonders of the World for being one of the best-preserved ancient cities in the world. Stop by the charming town of Valladolid, famed for the ornate, 16th-century Convent of San Bernardino of Siena and the baroque San Gervasio Cathedral. Wander the cobblestone streets, take photos, and find souvenirs. Once at Chichén Itzá, follow the guide while learning all about the most important buildings. From the awe-inspiring Pyramid of Kukulcan to the ruins that once housed tens of thousands of Mayans, the Pyramid of El Castillo or El Caracol, this visit is filled with rarely heard stories, incredible details, and stunning photo opportunities. Discover why the huge city played such an important role from the Late Classic period (600 AD) into the early part of the Post Classic period (1200 AD), and why it remained a huge center of pilgrimage. After your Chichén Itzá adventure, enjoy a tequila tasting and an authentic Mexican buffet lunch, with the option to include a non-alcoholic drink on the VIP and Deluxe tour options. At this point, the fun is just getting started as no visit to the area would be complete without a stop by a cenote, a refreshing, enchanting underground sinkhole, sacred to the Mayan people before returning to your starting point.

This was a fantastic day for us. We were picked up from our resort and joined the big coach. The visit to chichen itza was nice but I would say 90 mins is ideal. The 2 hour time is not Bessarabia as it was very sunny and uncomfortable. our guide Vincent was very knowledgeable and gave enough time for us take pictures and experience the place. The Mayan meal was nice and relaxing. The highlight of the day was the visit to the cenote. It was an unbelievable experience. We found the time at the cenote (1 hour) too short as it also included tequila tasting. Also the last stop at the Valladolid was only to buy ice cream . Overall Vincent was fabulous and this is a good deal for all the things you get.

Overall, this was a great experience. Marco was our main tour guide, with Rodrigo providing guide services at Chichen Itza. You start off painfully early in the morning at 4am. But after going through it, I can say it’s worth it. For all activities, when you arrive you are basically the first group there. As you leave, tons of other groups are then arriving. It’s very nice to miss the crowds. All together you spend about 3 hours at Chichen Itza. Rodrigo did a great job providing detailed explanations in English. I also appreciate that both guides are super eager to take pictures of you or answer your questions. The buffet lunch was shockingly good. The food quality is pretty good and you get an authentic Mexican meal. Length was a bit over an hour. Swimming in the Cenote to end the day was perfect. Very relaxing, cool, and a good way to prep for the long ride home. Length was 1.5 hours. I would highly recommend!

Quite comprehensive trip and good(ish) value for money. The guide was nice and entertaining, although could have explained better that Chichen Itza tickets (two separate tickets per head) need to be purchased in separate ticket offices, so we (couple) could each que (which are long) for one or clarify that tickets can be purchased in machine The drawback is that everywhere was super packed (not unexpected, albeit was hoping for less people in cenote) and the visit to Valladolid (very beautiful colonial city) was drive through only, without stopping around. Overall good experience for someone on a budget (though overall cost compares on a high end versus comparable experiences in other emerging Latin American or Asian countries or even Dubai).
