We start off with a hands-on driving lesson so that you can grab the Segway confidently and get out climbing through its charming little streets - our dedicated staff will help you along the way. Shortly after leaving the dock you’ll pass by the Padrão dos Descobrimentos, in the shape of a ship, built for the Portuguese World Exhibition in 1940, and also the Torre de Belém, an iconic monument of Lisbon. Back along the north bank, you’ll have views of historic Lisbon, with the Terreiro do Paço and the Cais do Sodré and also the recently renovated waterfront and see the Museum of Electricity. Continue past the former thermoelectric plant that is now home to the Electricity Museum, and admire one of the best examples of Industrial architecture in Lisbon. Next, go to the Monument of the Discoveries built in 1940 for the Exhibition of the Portuguese World. Admire the depictions of Portugal’s “Age of Discoveries,” before looking at the 16th-century fortifications of the Torre Belém, part of a defensive system that protected Lisbon from pirates. Enjoy a quiet coffee break away from the tourist traps, before cycling to the 16th-century Monastery of Saint Jerome, one of the finest examples of Manueline-style architecture in the city. There will be the chance to taste one of the famous Belém custard tartlets in the magnificent gardens before it’s time to cycle back to the meeting point.

Explore southern Lisbon on this electric bike tour. Cross the Tagus River, and let your bike take the strain as you climb to the outstretched arms of Christ the King. Meet your group at Largo da Severa 7A for a safety briefing on how the bikes work. Then, bike to the large commercial square of Praça da Figueira, and learn about its mercantile past. We really enjoyed the tour itself. However, we would have liked to have booked it in advance with a German-speaking guide. Unfortunately the option was not offered.
