From here, we will drive to the Khan el Khalili Bazaar, where your guide will give you an introduction to the most famous and oldest market in all of Cairo. Take your time to look around at the incredible number of stalls and beautiful architecture.
Now it's time to visit the other architectural masterpiece on the tour, the Mosque and Madrassa of Sultan Hassan. This mosque was visited by the President of the United States, Barack Obama, as well as the country's Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
This impressive mosque is among the largest and most precious mosques in the city, boasting a lavish and extravagant interior.
The construction of the mosque was funded with the money from the estates of people who had died in the Black Death (which struck in Cairo 1348). The building works began in the year 1356, but Sultan Hassan was murdered before the mosque was completed, and thus never saw the remarkable building that holds his name to this day.
After exploring the Sultan Hassan mosque, we will visit the fascinating Papyrus Institute. If you do not want to include this visit, just inform your guide on the day of your tour.
