Explore the Daintree on this full-day tour. Visit a wildlife sanctuary, experience the rainforest canopy from a unique perspective ziplining through the trees, and cruise along the Daintree River searching for crocodiles and other wildlife.
What to Expect
On this full-day tour you will visit Wildlife Habitat to experience the 4 wildlife environments – the savannah, rainforest, wetlands, and grasslands. As you make your way along the boardwalks of the Rainforest environment, you can fully immerse yourself in the different levels of the rainforest, from the forest floor to the canopy, and the wildlife which occupy it including the southern cassowary.
In the Wetlands, look out for the range of birds and other wildlife that call the area home, including the Black-Necked Storks. Make your way to the top of the elevated Stork Tower and enjoy an unprecedented view of their nest (and eggs, if you’re lucky!). Over in the Grasslands, you will have the opportunity to hand-feed kangaroos and wallabies. As well as get up close and personal to an emu.
Leaving Wildlife Habitat and crossing the Daintree River on board a cable-driven vehicular ferry. You will travel into the Daintree Rainforest to enjoy a tropical lunch. Experience this unique rainforest tour where your feet don’t touch the ground. Fly through the trees on flying fox ziplines, stopping at tree platforms to take in spectacular bird’s eye views over the treetops, down to cascading streams and out to the Great Barrier Reef. Breathtaking views and eco talks on each platform and no experience necessary!
Visit Alexandra Lookout to admire the picturesque views of the Rainforest and the Coral Sea. Cruise along the Daintree River among mangroves, impenetrable rainforest jungle, and crocodile-infested waters before returning to Cairns.
