The tour overall was quite good, but I would've liked more time to explore Pena Palace and Cascais. Cascais is a beautiful town and 40 minutes isn't enough. The tour starts in Cascais (40 minutes) then proceeds to Boca de Inferno (15 minutes or so) then Cabo de Roca (20 minutes or so) before going to Sintra for lunch. There's around 90 minutes for lunch before the tour of Pena Palace which in total was around 2 hours. The tour guide was knowledgable and enthusiastic, the driver was also very friendly so no fault of theirs, but just a little more time to explore Pena and Cascais would've been awesome. I also recommend making the size of the groups smaller, 20+ is too many for places like Pena Palace.

We were supposed to have a minivan for our tour of sites in and around Sintra. Instead we got a big 4x4. It meant we were 3 on a side and one in front. It was difficult to see out the sides and to hear our guide. Alex was our guide and he was really excellent. He has a degree in history so he gave us really good background on what we were seeing and help us to contextualize it within the larger scope of Portuguese history. He also made great suggestions on local specialties to taste. He was really engaging and fun to be with.
