See the Burj Khalifa: The Best Views and Photo Spots

The most breathtaking view in Dubai is from the top of the Burj Khalifa, but how do you take a photo that illustrates just how tall the world's tallest building is? Here are our top five spots in Dubai for taking amazing photos of this architectural giant.

Palm Islands

The Palm Islands are the two artificial islands off the coast of Dubai. You'll get incredible views across the marina, looking back at the city.

The Dubai Mall (Waterfall Entrance on the Lower Ground)

From the Waterfall Entrance on the Lower Ground level of the Dubai Mall, the world's biggest mall, you get two views at once: the Burj Khalifa and the romantic Dubai Fountains water show.

Jumeirah Beach

Jumeirah is known as the Beverly Hills of Dubai. This public beach stretches along the south coast from the junction of The Palm Jumeirah Island.

The Address Downtown Dubai

Most lounges inside this luxury hotel offer brilliant vistas of the Burj Khalifa. We suggest afternoon tea on the Risala terrace, or drinks in the Neos sky lounge (on the 63rd floor).

Safa Park

Located 3 kilometers from the Burj Khalifa, this green space offers a dose of tranquility within the city -- and unique photos looking back across the lake, towards Dubai's skyscrapers.

Burj Khalifa: Our Tips

How do you get a great picture of the Burj Khalifa?

Be patient and get creative. The Burj Khalifa is so tall that it will look out of proportion compared to almost everything else in the city! This gives you a serious chance to go on a photography mission, and a really fun excuse to explore all that Dubai has to offer (perhaps with an organized tour!).

How do you buy tickets for Burj Khalifa itself?

Once you've taken an incredible photo, make sure you go to the At The Top observation deck inside Burj Khalifa and celebrate. Tip: Buy a Skip-the-Line ticket in order to avoid up to 1.5-hour wait times.

When is the best time of year to go to Dubai?

The summer season will be cheapest, but it will also be incredibly hot. From November to April, the temperatures will be plenty warm for the beach without being too overwhelming. One additional planning tip: the holy month of Ramadan (when many Dubai locals will be fasting from dawn until dusk) has a big impact on the city's tourist hotspots.

Good to Know

  • When to visit
Hours vary from season to season, but the At The Top observation deck is usually open from 12:00PM - 9:30PM daily.
  • What is the price?
The prices vary based on time of day, ticket time, and additional tour options.
  • Will I need a guide?
If you want one, of course! Whether you want to explore the city of Dubai, or specifically learn more about the architecture from the At The Top observation deck at the Burj Khalifa, there is a helpful tour guide to suit your needs.
  • How to get there
The Burj Khalifa is located in the heart of Dubai. Standing high at 163 floors tall, you won't be able to miss it.
  • Additional tips
    • FYI: The average wait time is 1.5 hours for tickets purchased at the door.
    • Make a note that the month of Ramadan will affect attraction opening times. Plan ahead when making travel plans to Dubai.

What People Are Saying About Burj Khalifa

Really great experience highly recommend it

It was a lovely 30 min very peaceful and relaxing, wonderful to see the area from the water and really special experience to watch the fountains from that angle! Staff were friendly and helpful, boat wasn't crowded. Highly recommend it

had a great time will definitely do another tour next time

The tour great and we got to see a lot of the nice places in Dubai. I think i would choose an earlier one next time so wouldn't be wandering around in the dark trying to take photos. I met some nice people and we had a good tour guide.

Helpful, informative driver, who also drove carefully.

Our driver was almost a guide, as he took us to many of the sights we may have found difficult to find without him. His driving was also careful, something some of the drivers we have used, are not. They left us fearing for our lives in the manic Dubai traffic, but this one was careful and considerate to us as nervous Europeans too! The tour took in many places which we had asked to visit, like Dubai creek, gold souk and the Burj Halifa. Highly recommend this driver especially if you want to preserve your life!

Exhilarating experience ending with an authentic dinner and show

One of the best experiences starting with the wonderful views of Dubai from the 126th floor of the Burj Khalifa, then being picked up by FWD and taken on the sand dunes of the desert. I can't tell you how scary it was but those drivers were amazing... on many times I thought the car woul roll on the dunes, but the skill of the driver amazed me. itvwas thrilling and so exciting. The last stop was at a campsite where dinner was prepared in a great setting. Camel riding was offered, I would definitely do this activity again and well worth the money.

An experience you'll never forget in a hurry!!

My girlfriend and I turned up to this place that looked like a building site but it was well sign posted so we found the reception area straight away! When we arrived there was a power shortage so there was no air con! It was boiling. The lady behind the counter was very helpful and accommodating offing us water and still continuing to smile even though the heat was unbearable! Our flight was a at 9 and we had to go through some safety features with a guy who was very nice he even put seats outside in the shade for us as he could see we were hot! The flight was incredible with each area being explained in detail with a smooth take off and landing it put my girlfriend at ease as she's not really up for anything crazy! We got back and we had pictures taken and we had a look and the guys put them on a stick for us and it only cost 150aed including the memory stick! As we went to leave they saw we didn't have a car and offered us a lift to the nearest mall to get a taxi! BOOK THIS!!!!!
