What You'll Do
  • Learn about the old port that welcomed many European immigrants to this region
  • Learn how this historic port went from a slum to one of the newest and wealthiest areas in the city as you cycle along its quiet streets
  • Stand in the heart of Buenos Aires and learn about the significance of this plaza where much of Argentina’s history transpired
  • Private tours are also available upon request with an additional charge
  • Learn about the origins of tango
Discover the birthplace of Argentina standing beside the oldest national monument found directly in the center of Plaza de Mayo. The center stage for any demonstration, it’s no wonder why most historical events happened right here in this very spot.
What to Expect
Lasting approximately 5 hours, you'll cycle many bike trails and stop around 10 times to drink and learn about Yerba Mate, take photos, eat delicious asado and enjoy a fun, creative and informative tour led by expert bilingual guides.
Meet in the historic San Telmo (Peru 988) to collect your bike and familiarize yourself with the group. Heading south, you'll spin through the backstreets of one of the oldest barrios in Buenos Aires towards Parque Lezama, the border of La Boca and San Telmo. Then you'll change direction to La Boca and it's in this port town, where you can see elaborate urban art, an iconic stadium, and the birthplace of Tango music in the vibrant short street and huge tourist spot that is Caminito. You'll have free time here to discover these vibrant 4 blocks that once greeted millions of immigrants at the turn of the 20th century.

Back on the saddle, you'll head in a calmer direction towards neighboring area of Puerto Madero. Breathe easily through the quiet, modern streets in search of the 60 acre ecological reserve (*closed Mondays). Hunger will also have kicked in, so you'll stop at an original Parrilla - an authentic barbecue food cart on the southern coast boardwalk for a  filling lunch - vegetarian options available.

Full and satisfied, all roads lead to the “Heart of the City” in Plaza de Mayo where you'll learn about why most Argentine historical events happened in this very spot. Once you’ve grasped the timeline of traumatic, powerful and sometimes uplifting events that happened there, feel free to wander off on foot and discover a bit more of the Plaza and its intriguing surroundings.

The tour ends back at the meeting point in San Telmo (Peru 988).
