What You'll Do
  • Experience one of the top tango shows in Buenos Aires
  • Savor a variety of Argentinian and international dishes at dinner
  • Enjoy the live orchestra and nearly 25 artists performing on stage
Overview
Spend a memorable evening experiencing one of most authentic tango shows in Buenos Aires. The venue is the historic Carlos Gardel Restaurant, where you’ll enjoy an a la carte menu of Argentine and international dishes before the spectacular tango show.
What to Expect
Chanta Cuatro Restaurant was the scene of Carlos Gardel’s nights of dining and tango singing with friends. It opened its doors for the first time in 1893, at that time as a 2-storied restaurant and family hotel. Visitors were invited to play bochas, or bocce in the court attached to the restaurant.

At around the same time the Mercado de Abasto, or produce market for the city of Buenos Aires opened and the area surrounding it became home to workers, immigrants and malandras, or scoundrels. It witnessed the splendor of tango, perhaps due to the proximity to Carlos Gardel’s home at Jean Jaures Street, less than 2 blocks away.

Visit Esquina Carlos Gardel on this 4-hour program for an authentic evening of food and tango. Dinner starts at 20:30 with the show following at 22:30, finishing at midnight.

Enjoy Argentine specialties and international fare. Dinner is a la carte, and includes beverages. Experience the elegance and splendor of this dazzling place.

The show takes you through the history of tango and nearly 25 artists are on stage every night.
